Registry Repair
Windows registry is an essential part of your system. All the hardware and software you have installed on your computer is indexed in the registry. If the data contained in registry is not valid or is missing, then corresponding devices won’t work or you will have trouble accessing them.

Invalid and Corrupted Registry
Almost all computers (with the exception of brand new machines) suffer from invalid/corrupted registry keys, values, and paths. To reverse damage done to registry, you can do a simple registry cleaning and repair. Registry cleaning is similar to registry repair since both actions have the same goal: optimizing registry. But where registry cleaning means removing obsolete registry entries and keys, registry repair pertains to corrupted entries of currently installed (i.e. existing) software programs and hardware devices.
A corrupted registry key (or path) means that even though your application is fully installed (or peripheral devices hooked up) you still are not able to access it fully or you get errors. There are many reasons why this might be the case. For example, it can be that registry entry is pointing in the wrong direction or that version number of installed component is not corresponding to the registry entry of the same. In any case, the solution is to fix the registry entry of the problematic component.

Easy Registry Repair
There are several things you can do. You can try reinstalling the application/device. You can often download the fix or a replacement file from the manufacturer’s website. If you have experience with registry, you can try manually going into registry system and try to repair the entry in question. Another option is to use registry cleaner, a software utility that automatically fixes (and cleans) your entire registry.
There are many registry cleaners, but in essence they all do the same thing. This application will scan your registry for problems and would then perform a registry repair. With only a few steps (start scan, report, repair) your PC will be fixed. On our site here we have presented two lists of best registry cleaners: top 10 free and top 10 paid registry tools.

Tools and Utilities
Some free registry tools, such as Ccleaner, are quite good. You can try them and see if they will fix the issue that you have on your computer. If you have a budget and you don’t mind spending $20-$40 we would recommend purchasing a professional, quality registry utility. This way you typically get more powerful scan and repair application – and at the same time by purchasing the app, you support the company that has developed this technology.

Manual Tweaking
If you have a strong technical background you might want to consider doing registry repair yourself. Registry can be accessed easily and editing it can be easily done if you know what you are doing. If you decide to take this route make sure you do not delete any system registry entries. This can be a risky task because if you make a wrong edit you might damage corresponding software application or device.
