Tools

To deal with registry issues you can either manually edit registry entries or use one of the varieties of registry utility software that is available on the internet.  Some of these applications are free but majority cost $20 to $50 to purchase. Many of these registry tools combine multiple features in a single product so you can get start-up program manager, registry cleaner, fixer, and optimizer all in one tool.

The most popular type of registry utility is Registry Cleaner but you can also come across other types of registry tools such as Registry Repair, DLL Fixer/repair, uninstall tool, registry defrag, registry jumper, registry checker – each one specializing in different area of registry system.

When would you use one of these products? Which one to pick? To answer the first question you need to take a look at your situation – do you have registry-related problems on your PC? Do you get lots of error messages? Is your PC unusually slow? Or even worse does your system crash /freeze frequently?

If you are encountering these issues it might be the time to tune up your PC by using one of the registry tools. It might be tempting to try one of the free products (such as CCleaner) but we definitely recommend spending $30-$40 for a very good registry utility that will come in handy in the future as well.
